PFLP salutes the Palestinian woman at the forefront of struggle on International Women's Day
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine on this March 8, International Women's Day, sends its greetings of pride and congratulations to Palestinian women. The Palestinian woman stands in the first ranks of the struggle alongside her brother man for the liberation of her homeland and people, for her rights, and for self-determination, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and the return of refugees to their homes as guaranteed by UN Resolution 194.
The PFLP stands in full solidarity with Palestinian women in their heroic and historical battle for her rights, her human, legal and legitimate rights in full equality with men and her heroic battle for freedom and the freedom of her homeland. Today the Palestinian woman stands proudly and tall, in her historical march against national oppression, continuing her heroic struggle against siege and all crimes of the occupation. Today Palestinian women stand in the front line of the struggle, as martyrs, as prisoners, mothers, sisters and wives, guardians of the unity of the Palestinian family and the struggle and the fighters, at the same time, raising high the slogan of democratic and social struggle and liberation, raising high the slogan and the banners of equality, fighting discrimination, upholding her political, economic, social and cultural rights in very harsh and trying conditions and amidst the domination of a patriarchal culture in one hand and the coercion and torture of the occupation on the other hand.
Despite the harsh times for the struggle of Palestinian women, Palestinian women have entered all fields of struggle and knowledge. She continues her struggle alongside the Arab woman and alongside all women in the world for the creation and implementation of all laws in support of women and enabling women around the world to gain their full rights in all spheres, in labor, health, social welfare and social development, and for the ending of all forms of discrimination on national and social levels.
This March 8 comes at a time when our Palestinian people are subjected to siege, the theft of our land, resources and water, attacks on our holy places and the violation of our basic human rights, at the hands of the Israeli war machine. In these conditions, the high number of Palestinian women martyrs, their torture and arrest and the humiliation of Palestinian women, as the so-called Western democracies profess concern for Palestinian women's righs and human rights, they pay no regard to this constant oppression and indignity suffered daily by Palestinian women and all Palestinians.
Long live March 8, International Women's Day!
Long live the struggle of Palestinian women for national and social liberation!
We will surely win!
Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine
